SLG's new series Rex Libris by James Turner continues to garner attention. And though I am kind of sickie and leaving soon to attempt to form intelligent thoughts about other people's fiction, I will share with you what folks is saying:

James Turner himself tells you about his creation and the secret history of librarians at the Pulse.

Chud.com (scroll down a bit) gives Rex Libris #1 five out of five Thors: "This isn’t your standard ten-minute X-Men read. It’s a full-bodied tome compressed into such confined quarters, but it’s so well populated, and its absurd scenario of warrior librarian is played straight enough to carry you along with it." Oh, isn't it funny when people put down Marvel in reviews of our books? It's a bit ironic in this case, considering how much Jack Kirby influenced James's art for this comic. But the House that Jack Built seems to be a target for folks these days. So sad.

Andrea Speed at Comixtreme gives Rex #1 a four out of five... thingies. I'm not quite sure what those are. A grouping of exclamation points? In any case, she liked it: "If you’re looking for a meaty, unusual comic, seek this one out."

You get a two-fer at Newsarama, where not only is there a review of Rex Libris #1, but one of Bill and Ted's Most Excellent Adventures as well. The review of Bill and Ted doesn't have any good pull quotes for me, but they liked it. I'm a bit luckier with the Rex Libris review: " Rex Libris is sharp, funny, and looks great. People have complained as of late that the element of 'fun is missing from some of the comics they read. The fun’s not missing; Turner found it."
