New in Stores This Week

So, going to see Corpse Bride tonight, are you? What possibly could be better? Well, I'll tell you: Before heading to the theater, stop by your local comic book store and pick up a comic book. This one, for example:

Lenore #12 by Roman Dirge
24-page comic book, $2.95

The grand battle segment concludes, when Ragamuffin lets loose his claws and fights the demon hordes to ensure Lenore isn't returned to the deep, Frito-stinky pits of Heck. Good ol' Mr. Chippy returns to help in the fray, along with Muffin Monster, Mr. Gosh and Taxidermy. Oh, it's gonna be bloody. Well, black and white bloody I guess, but you can imagine the red if you close your eyes. Also, that makes it easy for me to snake your wallet. Other stories crammed in this issue are Things Involving Me, and a Lenore nursery rhyme gone wrong. Sooooooo wrong. This issue sure has it all. You know, if "all" only means what I just listed up there.

Did you tell anyone at the stores that you wanted it but it wasn't there?

well the one only carries the trade books, not the individuals, and my dad actually checked the other cause it's not in my area.

in my area, unless it's mainstream it gets very little attention outside of hot topic..

That's too bad about your comic book stores. But, still, I'm asking you -- did you or your dad tell someone at the stores that you were looking for something they did not have in stock? That's the way comic book stores know that they've missed out on make a couple of bucks. You can also ask the stores to order it for you.

This one will probably be in Hot Topic, but it's not the case with all of our comics -- or indie comics in general -- so you have to give the comic book store people a hand and let them know you'd like to buy something from them. It sucks that it's that way, but it is.

yeah.. i'll have to go back and ask more about it. my boyfriend is gonna probably go back in a couple weeks to check on something, so i'll go in with him and talk to them about it.

Oh, wait -- I just saw that you're in Australia. You won't be able to get this issue of Lenore, as we no longer can distribute it internationally. Our other comics, though, you should be able to get.

That's...weird. Thought Dan and I fixed that for individual issues.

i go in to every comic book place here every week and piss them off by asking "when are you gonna get lenore?!"

they can get the book, just not individual issues...

Ah, if you did, Dan didn't tell me.

Lenore indiviudual issues still not available abroad
Sorry Roman, I asked Dan about this just last week. We still are not allowed to sell individual issues of Lenore anywhere but in the U.S and Canada. I had to ask because I was doing a special promo for retailers for the release of issue #12.

Does this include Canada? I have not had the time to run to any of the comic stores to see if they got it in.

I live in Canada, and I've never had any trouble getting individual issues of Lenore at the store I frequent. Unless this is a fairly recent problem (something that happened since Lenore #11), I don't think we Canucks need to worry about anything.

I have never had peoblems, I was also wondering if it was recent. I use to run a comic store and we would sell around 50 copies of each issue of Lenore.

We can sell Lenore in the U.S. and Canada, so everything should remain trouble-free where you are. :)

oh my god...I feel so bad for you not being able to see Corpse Bride... :( seriously. Go to somewhere where you can see it, then when you return home, you can see it when it comes out again, how's that? So when it fades out of theaters everywhere else, you still get a month of Corpse Bride! Nifty...

How did you know? ;)

Tomorrow I go pick up my reserved copy of Lenore #12 =D

I'm sad as hell now because my store didn't have it in stock. I hate my town. I want to see black and white bloodiness. I want to see black and white goriness, too.

Sorry about that. It's just Lenore that's affected. We can send our other books to the UK.
