We're Back from Comic-Con!

Hey, kids. We're back!

You did notice we were gone, right?

Yes, we were off at Comic-Con in San Diego, braving hordes and selling comics and toys and T-shirts as if it were what we were made to do.

SLG announced our Disney deal more formally at our panel. You can read about that at Newsarama. (My favorite part is how they name everyone on the panel except for me. Boo hoo.) You can also read about it in Disney's just-the-facts-ma'am press release at the Pulse.

Jhonen, by all accounts, killed (figuratively! figuratively!) at his panel, but you won't find any accounts of that in the online comics sites because... Man, I dunno. You're gonna have to ask them.

All in all, it was a fun and successful convention. If you have pictures of our booth or people, please do feel free to post them in the comments here! I always wonder what we look like from the other side of the table. I have my personal pictures from the convention posted here.

And now back to the business of publishing comics....

glad to see yo gus at the on... to be honest your booth sort of turned into an oasis in the middle of the madhouse-styled confusion that is the SDCC... thanks for being there!

I'm sure you're getting sick and tired of hearing from whack, rabid Canadians... but the (stoopid) CN website really doesn't say much about what SLG will be doing at their con :(

And so here's a question you're probably get sick of hearing, but what is going on? Will you guys be getting a panel? Or just a booth? Will Jhonen be subjected to hoardes of Canadian beavers demanding autographs? Or will he be safely protected by one of our happy-go-lucky, Dudley Do Right mountie chaps?

Or are the CN staff being their usual guest-friendly selves and hiding the SLG booth under an escalator in a dank corner with absolutely no signage so as to ensure that they make the rest of my country look bad?

*reads own comment* Damn... I AM obnoxious -_- Sorry!! I'll make sure to be at the con to receive any smitings I may have just earned myself.

The Haunted Mansion comic is a delight to Disneyland/Disney Theme Park Fans that I eagerly anticipate with much salivating.

Gaaah! I attempted to find your booth but no luck. Even the minimap/souvenir book thing, no listing. What number were you guys and when was his panel?

uh...I think we were the 3rd largest comic publisher booth next to DC and Dark Horse. We were, in fact, next to DC as far as geography. They even had our little logo on the map as our booth location. It would basically take a blind person to miss us if you even once ventured over to the comic section. Hell, we were under pikachus big yellow ass too!

Oh *MAN*. I was wandering around the DC booth looking at shirts and getting ideas for new ones. That was Saturday. I spent most of the time saying to my friend, "I just want to find the Slave Labor booth. Wtf."

The same thing happened when I went to find the Penny Arcade booth tho - went down a few rows where they said they would be, and couldn't see them anywhere. So I asked a vendor where they were, and he pointed - to directly behind me. Oy!

It was my first time ever at 'Con though, so I think I was just overwhelmed. Next year... next year...

One of the kids that was standing around talking to me glanced over at you and goes "Your editor is really pretty!" I think he brought it up a couple times, actually. I eventually mentioned your husband and I think he got all embarrassed.

i wish i could of gone, to see ya guys again :(...i saw the pics, someone gave jhonen a can of corn?( i think people feel the need to feed him, he looks prety damn skinny, it would be funy though if he became fat at the end of year from all of the food thrusted at him during conventions...)
