Too Stupid to Quit

Happy All Saints' Day, everyone. Last night was SLG's Halloween party, and we had a bunch of fun. Here's all of us, saying Happy Halloween to you:

Left to right: Mike Moss, Joe Nakamura, Jennifer de Guzman, Dan Vado, Scott Saavedra, Bryan Dobrow

Last night was special because we all love Halloween, but also because I got to present SLG Prez Dan Vado with an Ultra Mega Secret Project that I've been working on with a bunch of SLG artists and writers -- Slave Labor Stories: Too Stupid to Quit, Too Mean to Die, a 64-page color anthology commemorating SLG's 20th Anniversary.

I've been planning since just after Comic-Con, and Dan had not a clue, which has taught me how much I can get away with without him noticing and has taught Dan to be extra-vigilant because I'm sneaky. The cover you see to the left is by Scott Saavedra and colored by Eleanor Lawson; a variant cover by Evan Dorkin will be on the copies available for purchase at Lulu.com soon. Here's a list of contributors:

Big thanks to all these creators!

Pictures of my little presentation to Dan after the cut:
I gave a little speech before presenting the book. Note how uncomfortable Dan looks. He gave me a look of pure "What the fuck is going on?" when I called for everyone's attention.

The presentation of the book. Yes, that's a print-out, not an actual book. There was a shipping mix-up and I was a lot more pissed off about it than I look in this photo. We have the actual books today, though.

Dan takes a look, Scott looks on.

Scott gives Dan a pat on the back, while a ninja looks on.
